I thought I would give you a little insight into something profound (to me at least) that happened. Please bear in mind that this is coming from someone who, as I have told you before, has lived most of her life with fairly constant back pain. In the past I used to see a physio roughly every 2-3 months just to try and get some sort of relief. Every now and again I would also see a Chiro when my physio was at her wits end not knowing how else to help me. Thankfully, all of that is in the past and is no longer my present.
Because of the amount of running I have been doing recently, I decided to set up an appointment with my chiro, just to check that everything was ok and as a form of prevention rather than cure. After completing the assessment and giving me some treatment yesterday, he informed me that my back, neck and body in general feels great and that everything is absolutely fine. He was very impressed with the difference in me in comparison to notes that he had from the last time he saw me (quite some time ago). It was completely different information to what I have become accustomed to hearing throughout the years AND I didn’t even have to book a follow up appointment.
I left feeling pretty stoked, but more importantly super grateful.
Pilates has truly altered my life in a big way and I just wanted to thank you.

My balance which has always been shocking has improved so much even my hubby is impressed, my core is so much stronger and my tone has improved a lot. On top of this I get so much enjoyment from each class – although Jo works us to the ultimate we can bear, we also laugh a lot. I plan my whole week around my Pilates classes as that is MY thing which I get to enjoy.

My name is Mary da Costa. I started Pilates about 9 years ago. At that time I was having problems with my hip and my sciatic nerve and had difficulty walking. I began individual lessons twice a week. Jo-Anne worked slowly with me strengthening my core. I am now able to walk without pain, do my own house work and feel 10 years younger. I have now progressed to a trio class once a week and individual class once a week where we do more challenging exercises. My advice to the younger members of my family is to start now while you are young.
