My interest in pilates came from working with the human body as a physiotherapist for 14 years now. I have learnt a lot about optimal function of the body, and how dysfunction causes pain. All patients need to be rehabilitated after an injury and pilates really offers a great way to do this. I have seen really good results from it as correct alignment, low impact and fine motor control is always considered.
I have attended classes myself for many years and am able to experience daily the benefits pilates offers in my own body. In 2012 I completed my comprehensive mat and equipment training through BASI. The training was intense and excellent and I love using what I learnt to work with all kinds of patients in the studio. I really enjoy working with people who are on a journey of healing and improving their bodies and are interested in learning to use their bodies more effectively. I have a special interest in working with woman through their pregnancy and post partum recovery. My own journey as a mom has motivated me to begin studying lactation consulting through the SACLC and WITS.
I am so happy to be married to Dean and our daughter, Amy, adds delight to our every day. We are very excited to be expecting our son in January 2017. I also love road and trail running, and am so grateful to have completed 5 Comrades Marathons.
