I have always loved movement of any kind, I am fascinated with the body and how it works. During high school, I developed a deep passion for dance.
My journey started at Johannesburg Dance Foundation, where I graduated with a Diploma in Dance Performance with intensive training in Ballet, Contemporary and Jazz. I followed a professional dancing career with freelance dance companies in SA. I also taught Ballroom and Latin American and danced abroad in Taiwan.
I wanted to learn more about the body and how it moved and fell in love with Pilates.
2003, I started my training as a Pilates Instructor with Equilibrium Pilates; now known as James Raaff & Associates. I taught at Equilibrium Pilates Studio and Dainfern Pilates and several other small studios in the Gauteng area.
2005, I pursued my career in dance again at Adeum Professional Dance Company in Houston, USA, as an apprentice. While dancing in Houston, I taught Pilates in various studios and gyms.
2006, I opened my Pilates studio in Benoni. My studio grew with other instructors joining me along the way. My passion grew deeper, as well as wanting to gain more knowledge and felt that the BASI education would fulfil this.
In 2012, I joined the BASI Pilates family. I have a deep passion for competitive road cycling and recently claimed second position at the Provisional Gauteng Cycling Championships.
