My love for Pilates and teaching came from a background of dance.
After four years of intensive Bournonville Ballet, Horton Contemporary, Jazz and other dance forms of training, I received a diploma in dance performance through Johannesburg Dance Foundation. I then followed a professional dancing career with freelance dance companies in SA. During this time I also taught Ballroom and Latin American dance. I then went abroad to dance in Taiwan.
In 2003, I started my training as a Pilates Instructor with Equilibrium Pilates; now know as James Raaff & Associates. I started teaching at studios in Dainfern Personal Training & Pilates, Equilibrium Pilates Studio in Rivonia and several other small studios in Johannesburg and on the East Rand.
Then in 2005 I pursued my career in dance again and did an apprenticeship with Adeum Professional Dance Company in Houston, USA. While dancing in Houston I taught Pilates for a private studio and gyms in surrounding area.
In September 2006, I opened my Pilates studio in Benoni. My Studio has grown over the years with other instructors who have joined me along the way.
I also continue to learn more about Pilates through doing courses on a yearly basis.
Other passions & interests of mine, is competitive road cycling, rock climbing and generally enjoying outdoor life.
